Paste from clipboard without any formatting

Many moons ago (the author is unwilling to admit how many) you could predictable paste text you had copied without it getting all mucked up with formatting from the original source page. Somewhere along the line we decided that it would be better to be able to transport that formatting in our pasting operations.

While this offered several distinct advantages it also produced a fair number problems not the least of which was transporting hidden characters, links, images and kinds of difficult to remove items.

The solution on the mac is pretty easy via a keyboard shortcut…
Command + Options + Shift +V

Yes that is a fair number of keys but being a guitar player I tend to see these almost like chords. Once you familiarize yourself with the shape it become second nature and very quick.
